Dr. Jin Hee Kim, a native of South Korea, came to the United States in 1992 to study at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Natick, MA. She received Bachelor, Master, and Graduate Diploma degrees in violin performance from the New England Conservatory of Music with Michèle Auclair and James Buswell, and a doctorate degree from Boston University, where she was a teaching assistant to Prof. Roman Totenberg.

Dr. Kim has been giving numerous solo and chamber recitals, and concerts as a soloist with orchestras and as a member of professional orchestras throughout the U. S., Canada, South Korea, Germany, and Italy in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, Symphony Hall in Boston, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul, and the Old City Hall in Leipzig. Her current project is to perform all Beethoven Violin Sonatas, and it will be completed in the spring of 2015.

Prizes and scholarships awarded to Dr. Kim include the First and the Silver medal prizes at the International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition in New York, the Most Distinguished Musicians and the Brahms Awards at IBLA International Competition in Italy, Tourjée Alumni Award at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival scholarship, Banff Summer Arts Festival scholarship, and other prizes and scholarships as well.

Dr. Kim currently serves on the faculty at the Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, OH. She previously taught at the Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA, Boston University, and the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA. She also has given master-classes in the U.S. and abroad.
