Associate Professor of Health and Wellness, Sally Paulson, PhD, AT, ATC, CSCS*D comes to the Mount having most recently served as Chair and Professor in the Department of Exercise Science at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.  Paulson completed her undergraduate studies in sports medicine at the University of Detroit Mercy,  a post-professional Master of Arts degree in athletic training education with an emphasis in biomechanics from the California State University-Chico, and her doctoral degree in kinesiology with a specialization in exercise science at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Paulson has extensive experience mentoring undergraduate student research in the areas of biomechanics, fall prevention, and functional strength testing in older adults.  She has had been published in the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity,  BMC Geriatrics,  the Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, and the International Journal of Sports Medicine.   Dr. Paulson’s primary teaching areas will be in undergraduate biomechanics of human movement, foundations of health and wellness, health systems and health theories, and supervising senior student practicum experiences.
