1. Why did you choose the Mount?
I was at the recruiting meeting at Cincinnati State.

2. How did the Mount help accommodate transfer needs?
The Mount had all my information and answered all my questions. They made it a smooth transfer. They made sure my credits transferred and I didn't have to take any unnecessary classes.

3. Are you involved with any on-campus activities/clubs/co-op/athletics? If so, please share your experience.
I meet on zoom with the Overcoming Racism meeting every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. This was an extra credit assignment for one of my classes and I really enjoyed it and I ask if I could come back and with open hands, I was welcomed to come back and I have been going every Tuesday.

4. What has helped you be successful at the Mount?
The professors have been very helpful and my advisor (Jennifer Withrow) has been awesome. She is there whenever I call, ask for help, and need advice. The words, MY DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN! That stands true to Jennifer. She is great.

5. How do you manage your course load with a job/and or your personal life?
I have to organize myself, my work, and my school. That is the only way I can do it. I set aside time for my school work every day to keep up with it. I work on it every day.

6. How does the Mount help you accomplish your education goals virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic?
The staff was very supportive and very helpful, answered all questions, and made things very easy for me.

7. What advice would you give to someone looking to transfer to the Mount?
I would tell them how great the school is and how supportive the staff is. I would let them know how my transfer went and how successful I have been.

1. Why did you choose the Mount?
I've always heard good things about Mount St. Joseph. I also have a good friend who graduated from the Mount and she talked about how flexible the classes were, and how helpful and engaging the teachers were during her college career. And of course, this is one of the best schools to attend.

2. How did the Mount help accommodate transfer needs?
Everyone was responsive and also transparent during my whole process. Advisors, teachers, and students were always willing to help and answer any questions or concerns that I was having. My advisor was very responsive and accommodating when it came to scheduling my classes and explaining my transcript on how my credits transferred.

3. What has helped you be successful at the Mount?
I have just started going to the learning center where they help me correct and write my papers. And the support of my family and friends with helping me stay focused on my work.

4. How do you manage your course load with a job/and or your personal life?
Working a full-time job and going to school can be challenging at times. I had to prioritize and get my rhythm, or like a schedule going where I try to start on any assignments and readings that I may have during the week so on the weekends I can finish up, review my homework, and relax or hang out with my family and friends.

5. How does the Mount help you accomplish your education goals virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic?
My class had the option to attend in person or virtually. That way if I wanted to socially distance myself at home I was able to do so and not miss class. I was required to read a book that I had to check out from the library. The library was able to check the book and place it on their cart, that way I could pick up my book without coming into close contact with anyone.

6. What advice would you give to someone looking to transfer to the Mount?
Go for it! The Mount is a welcoming school with friendly students and staff who want the best for you. They have a learning center that has various helpful options for you. Everything from tutoring, to writing critiques, to time management and study skills. The teachers are always open and willing to help as well. But definitely use the resources available!

1. Why did you choose the Mount?
I chose the Mount because I wanted something similar to my previous college. A college that is small and where I'm not just seen as a number. I wanted the professors to know my face and not just my last name.

2. How did the Mount help accommodate transfer needs?
By walking me through what all the Mount has to offer its students. The Mount has great resources like helping students with resumes or providing food assistance from the cupboard.

3. Are you involved with any on-campus activities/clubs/co-op/athletics? If so, please share your experience.
I recently just joined the Residence Council on campus and I am considering joining the Black Student Union. I've been to a couple of their events and really enjoyed them.

4. What has helped you be successful at the Mount?
My professors are very genuine to me. You can tell they care about their students and want us to succeed. Very kind people and the faculty are one of the nicest people I've met on campus. I also practice self-care. When I transferred to the Mount, one of the most important things my professor taught me was self-care and how taking care of your mental health is essential.

5. How do you manage your course load with a job/and or your personal life?
In my personal life, I try to pace myself by making a homework calendar when I feel the most stressed. I usually get anxious towards the middle and end of the semester because that's when all the big papers and projects are due. I plan to do homework on specific days during the week and use my free time to relax.

6. How does the Mount help you accomplish your education goals virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic?
For some of my classes, we have a blended learning schedule, where students have an option to attend class in person or zoom online. It has been so helpful because I feel safer at home when covid numbers start to ramp up. Often, I bounce around between home and campus. Also, most of my classes are in the evening and sometimes I don't like walking in the dark.

7. What advice would you give to someone looking to transfer to the Mount?
Like I said, in the beginning, when you come to the Mount you won't be counted as a number. The professors are understanding and are willing to work with students on whatever they need in their academic endeavors. The campus is calm and quiet, one can really get a sense of peace here. It's safe, and Bingo nights are fun too.

Why did you choose the Mount?
I chose the Mount because it felt like home.

How did the Mount help accommodate transfer needs?
The Mount answered all of my questions and explained to me in great detail where my prior credits would be applied and why.

Are you involved with any on-campus activities/clubs/co-op/athletics? If so, please share your experience.
I am a part of Phi Alpha, but unfortunately, we don't meet often. Our group is small, therefore it's harder to get together.

What has helped you be successful at the Mount?
The professors are very hands-on and accommodating. They guide you in a way that makes you feel like you can conquer anything.

How do you manage your course load with a job/and or your personal life?
I prayed often for the strength to keep going and I stay focused on the goal. This journey is not easy, but if you prioritize, it's definitely doable.

How does the Mount help you accomplish your education goals virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Even when classes transitioned to being mostly online, the professors were still available to assist with any reservations students may have had about the change. They reminded us that we were all in this together and to give ourselves some grace with the new learning experience.

What advice would you give to someone looking to transfer to the Mount?
Just do it! Transferring to the Mount was the best decision I've ever made. The staff, the professors, and the students have contributed more to my educational journey than I ever could have imagined.
