Welcome to the Mount Family!
We know that one of the best resources for helping your student navigate their MSJ experience is YOU! Parents and families offer important support for students throughout their educational journey. We encourage family members to learn about the opportunities, services, and resources available at the Mount, because your student may turn to you when they have questions, concerns, or need support. Your guidance will complement the support available on campus to help your student Climb Higher at the Mount!

H. James Williams, Ph.D., President
On behalf of the President and myself, welcome to the Mount! Just as we welcome your student into our community, we welcome you. Your student made a wonderful choice for their educational journey. The Mount is special for many reasons, including the limitless opportunities and comprehensive resources that are available to all students to help them achieve their goals.
The excitement and demands of academic life, can, at times, be overwhelming. As parents and families, your role continues to be invaluable in guiding and cheering on your student. I invite you to learn about all that the Mount offers, so, together, we can help your student thrive and reach their potential.
During Student Orientation, you and your student will be introduced to the Mount’s support services. While reminders will regularly be sent to your student about available campus support, this "MSJ Parent and Family Resources" page is intended to help you support your student if an issue arises. It includes Mount Community highlights, a schedule of campus events, as well as contact information for various campus offices.
I look forward to sharing the MSJ journey with you, your family, and, of course, your student. This is an extraordinary place–where students are cared for, challenged, find belonging, and achieve their dreams. You will regularly see me and my husband on campus, at games and performances, during Family Weekend, and at Homecoming. We look forward to celebrating with you when your student crosses the stage to receive their diploma at Commencement!
Sincerely,
Carole Campbell Williams, First Lady

This top-tier rating reflects the superb work of the MSJ Police Department, a commissioned law enforcement agency by the State of Ohio. Police Officers are on duty 24/7/365 to respond to emergencies (dial 911) or non-emergency matters (dial “0” from any campus phone). Specialized safety measures are also in place for students with disabilities. Parents and families can rest assured that students’ safety is a top priority at the Mount.

Health & Wellness
The Mount’s Wellness Center offers comprehensive mental and physical health services to meet the needs of all students. In partnership with TriHealth, the Wellness Center on campus provides sick visits, some prescriptions, select immunizations, and referrals for off-campus specialized care. These services are billed through a student’s health insurance. Licensed Counselors and Socials Workers are available on campus to assist all MSJ students with mental health matters, including the adjustment to college, relationship difficulties, developing skills to manage mental health, and to connect with off-campus services. All campus counseling services are provided at no cost to full-time students.
Academic Support
From their first day on campus, students can access free academic resources and support services to help them succeed. The Mount’s Learning Center provides all students with writing support, peer tutoring, academic coaching, and individualized assistance with study strategies. The Academic Advising Resource Center supplements faculty advising, which is provided to all students, by assisting students in the development of educational plans and career goals. Additionally, the Mount’s Student Accessibility Specialist is available to provide support to students arising from documented disabilities or medical matters, including but not limited to academic accommodations, the use of auxiliary aids, temporary illness leave, and/or physical accommodations on campus.
