School of Health Sciences Annual Day of Service 2026

service day

On April 11, the School of Health Sciences stepped away from the usual routine and spent the day out in the community for our Annual Health Sciences Day of Service. This year, 64 faculty, students, and staff volunteered their time at seven different organizations across the tri-state, all with the shared goal of giving back in meaningful ways.

Our volunteers partnered with several outstanding local organizations, including Matthew 25 Ministries, Freestore Foodbank, Hope's Closet, A Child's Hope, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Lighthouse Youth Services, and the St. Vincent de Paul Cantina Food Pantry. Teams spent the day sorting donations, organizing supplies, and helping prepare items that will directly support families and individuals in need.

The day was a simple but powerful reminder of the importance of service and community. It also gave faculty, staff, and students a chance to work side by side in a different way than usual, building connections while supporting organizations that make such a difference in our region.

We’re thankful to our community partners for welcoming us and to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to participate. It was a full day of hard work, but one that left everyone feeling proud to be part of a community that values service.
